The arms are corruption, but it was a calculated amount of it to allow for movement and adhesive for the door armor as part of the machine's design
This way it can utilize that part of dimensional travel

Though, it shows that, even if the whole machine goal is to prevent corruption (if I remember correctly), as long as control remains, the guy inside isn't 100% against it. 🤔
