Dutton's policy is to give people who can already afford to enter the housing market a tax payer subsidy for five years on the repayments they can already afford to make. It does not increase supply, help lower income people get a deposit, or enter the market. It's a tax break for the wealthy.

In all the talk about Dutton bringing his son on the campaign trail to try and prove he 'gets' the housing market issues, one thing is missing – his housing policy only benefits people like his son who is already wealthy enough to get into it live.australiainstitute.org.au/2025/04/aust...

These things have to trickle down before the system works, apparently...🤮
This is a supply issue.
Stop giving tax breaks, use it to build more houses.
Then build some more houses.
Who ever made a home an investment commodity is a real evil selfish vile person.
But today
Dutton says he will help his children with a home deposit ‘at some stage’.
