As a Catholic this thinking never made sense to me. Totally removes agency/responsibility from the individual. Contrary to the tenet of free will. Why does God allow bad things to happen? God doesn’t. Bad people choose to do bad things. In life, sometimes bad things do just happen. Good things too 🤷🏻♂️
