No one wants to play strategy games together, for starters. This is probably the biggest problem. If you pull out Settlers of Catan at a party 9/10 people are just leaving the party

Skill expression as characters is borderline null, it's not like fighting games at all (probably the gold standard for that kind of thing when done well). More gold = win. Period
