I think those with large followings were reluctant to move until the content became increasingly worse and lowered their visibility. At least it seems this way from someone who didn’t have a blue check.

Absolutely. The prospect of a fee also seems to have been a factor, and there were suddenly tons of codes up for grabs at the same time. I’m more wondering why we tipped over here instead of somewhere else and whether there’s a gift exchange element to it or something else about being invited.

After the early adopter phase earlier this year, activity ebbed and I couldn't give away invite codes. From my perspective, the big wave of economists came once there was talk of charging a fee for Twitter.

That said, we haven't had an influx to our Mastodon account.

Yeah totally. Conditions are ripe to leave twitter. Just curious why this is the cool kids spot and not one of the others.
