Tracks like ‘Song of life’ and ‘Release the Pressure’ from the LP had been hammered in the clubs for a good two or three years already. Hearing stuff like that, )and FSOL’s ‘Papua New Guinea’) in places like the Haçienda was an ear-opener 🙌

I did actually see 808 State play the GMEX (now the central convention centre) in 1990/91. Massive indoor rave! Sweat dripping from the ceiling afterwards like rain 🙃
