Look, I don’t like Trump. I think he’s evil. Enough of this. All I am saying is that it’s hard to get Americans to vote (and it has been forever). Accept that and don’t rely on ‘people don’t want a sex offender’ to beat a charged voter base.

And I think you’re fundamentally misunderstanding the motivations of voters in this election. In 2024 voters wanted change badly, Trump offered that, and Kamala offered ‘normalcy’ and ‘continuing bidens legacy.’ All they had to do was offer some change. (Justified) Morality bashing was never enough.

You need to back stuff up with action- not happening. It’s also difficult to accept that your country has deeply racist and bigoted roots (hey Brexit) and it’s easy to ignore global patterns in voting and the psychology behind it. But all this will do is swing the democrat party more to the right

But go back and read what you’ve said: if people aren’t galvanised against a president who have been openly admitting they are fascist that says a lot about your voter base and what they will tolerate. It’s too easy to just blame the Dems and not reflect on that alarming fact.

I think a lot of people will argue with you that Corbyn is not the same as the Democrats - however he was pro-Brexit and I’m personally not a massive fan.

Yeah, Corbyn was pro brexit. Kamala was pro gun, pro military force, anti-Medicare for all, pro immigration policing. The point is that democrats didn’t give people alternatives that mattered to them, so people either didn’t vote or voted green. The electorate isn’t smart, I don’t think they’re evil

If you’re not going to vote against fascism then you need to look hard at the history of German and wonder about complicity because it’s tacit consent. I don’t accept that argument - speaking as someone whose family was subjected to apartheid.

You have a responsibility to vote, no one said it’s going to be nice. We have to make hard choices arguing against it that somehow not acting against a fascist is, complicit action. There are plenty of examples that back this up, people don’t like it because it’s an ugly truth.

I think people need to either accept America for what it is and has been for a long time or actually take action to change the system. I see very little of either of these things.
