Barbara Fields at the end of Ken Burnsβ The Civil War about who won/lost. North won the battlefield but
βThe Civil War is still going on. Itβs still to be fought and, regrettably, it can still be lost.β
We are losing to new βplantation ownersβ who have manipulated people to their cause.
We should have never pulled out of the South in the Compromise of 1877 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compromise_of_1877) It lead to Jim Crow - setting everything back 100 years - and lead to what we are dealing with now.
Sorry our history is irrelevant now as a South African immigrant has taken control of the government. Bought control over our government because DJT sold our democracy for his freedom from prison.
Many in the south turned against the demonrats because of its evil nature. Just like today. Some of our current leaders (Tulsi and Robert) have rejected once again the horrible politics of the Demonicrats. Choosing intellect over emotion.
Iβm old enough to remember when a president, and his brother were trying to fix corruption in government, and both were assassinated. Just my opinion.
We also need to remember that he still wasn't that good of a person and was extremely racist. He also allowed the largest mass execution in American history to happen to a group of mostly innocent indigenous people. I won't forget the evils he did
February 12, 1809.
As a resident in the Land of Lincoln (born in Kentucky, lived in Indiana, resettled in Illinois where he established himself)
I always remember his birthday.
His legacy with Indigenous Peoples isnβt as stellar as his emancipation of Black Americans and that canβt be ignored.
βI hope I am over wary; but if I am not, there is, even now, something of ill-omen, amongst us. I mean the increasing disregard for law which pervades the country; the growing disposition to substitute the wild and furious passions, in lieu of the sober judgment of Courtsβ - Abraham Lincoln, 1838
Just a friendly reminder that Abe wasn't exactly a hero either... Yeah he helped the cause but also remember that a black man's vote was only 2/3 of a vote while a white vote was 1 whole vote. Not to mention segregation still. My guy honestly did less than the bare fucking minimum.
βI am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts.β
Remember that time a bunch of rich racists gained too much power, convinced a bunch of poor people to fight on their behalf, and tried to overthrow the US government?
No & they never will β¦ same mentality that murdered him murdered JFK & Martin Luther King & Bobby K (he must be turning in his grave over his offspring)
A land built on the blood & bones of the indigenous peoples then indentured servants then black slaves it was ALWAYS GOING TO HAPPEN π‘

Again, your opinion is incorrect. Deal with it and try to keep up.

Talk about seeing someone's soul!
I love the guy. The Emancipation Proclamation was revolutionary. He literally TOOK the authority to end slavery.
However, as he told a reporter in 1861:
βI am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts.β
Oh wait, that's happened twice now...

But we ainβt going anywhere. They need to climb up a coupla centuries
We would have an entirely different society now.
