Whilst I didn't agree with a lot of his views, I knew he was honest and didn't take political disagreement personally. He put his country above his party, and his loss is a tragedy for the USA. The Republican Party is poorer for his passing.
He was a man of honor and integrity. I totally respected him. I can't say I respect any republicans except for Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger. (I don't agree with all their political takes, either.)
And many others with a conscience and sense of decency left the Republican party. I appreciate those who stood up for their principles and especially those who left and are speaking out. Those who stayed either have no decency or are cowards, which undermines whatever decency they might have had.
