Interesting. Linux Mint on my laptop almost never gives me grief. But Kubuntu on my desktop seems to "break" more and like you, I copy/paste fixes. Generally both those distros work well enough for me so I just stick with them.

It's often a driver issue that drives me to shop around. I was on neon for a few years, but after loading an update I couldn't get it to recognize that my printer was attached, even though I had been using it on the same machine for over a year. I tested Mint and it worked, no problem.
