Never finished it. Nothing wrong with the game but I think at the time I was just burnt out on “ space “ themed games as a whole. It’s similar to how I got burnt out on “ post apocalyptic “ and “WW 1 & 2” games of yesteryear.
The scenario, the lore, the consequences of our choices, the dialogues, the mixture of humor, cynicism and sarcasm. Traveling from one planet to the other instantly (Hello Starfield)
I didn’t vibe with the humor but I appreciate what they were going for tbh. Story was interesting and setting was fun. Totally agree that just general gameplay could use touching up but given their improvements to Avowed I bet the second goes way better
It was my first real rpg where you can role play and I fell in love with it. Got me to try a bunch more RPGs. The only thing was the lack of combat variety
I loved the game. My only dislike was the game breaking bug on the final mission when you go to confront them. Got stuck in that tv studio room and if I left it’s crash the game
I loved the skill system. Having them be vague up to level 30(?) and then you specialize in something later on is such a great way to avoid getting stuck in a niche, without allowing a less-immersive “respec” option.
I enjoyed the setting and characters, as well as its story and choices. Both of the DLC's are also worth playing for these reasons. They only real drawback is the combat, which felt like Fallout 4's but worse.
Didn't like: some annoying characters, technology - felt like a 360 game from a decade earlier, towns felt barren. Weapon mechanics were decent, but guns felt like pea-shooters
Comments
Disliked: weapons felt off, whether it was melee or a gun, it felt like it was lacking any real weight.
I disliked the sheer amount of consumables and junk to pick up in the world, though. I don't like that in BGS games either.
Didn't like Monarch. The game's pacing slowed to a crawl there. While the game had good writing, I think they could have done more with the satire
didn't like : melee combat and gunplay were average.
Liked: story, size/length, explorability, quests
