What do you think about an insurance company who secretly paid nursing homes to reduce their hospital transfers? Certainly those other than their CEO knew of, endorsed, implemented, and got paid for these wanton felonious and sadistic acts.

So it is a problem that when a nursing home has staffing issues or a patient is difficult they will send patients to the hospital ER. So there are problems with both the insurance and the nursing homes. Friday nights in the ER are wild. Rehoming people for the weekend.
I would think the higher ups and management knew. I don’t think a doctor or nurse is going to risk their license and keep a resident who is critically ill, in the facility and try and wing it.
This is absolutely egregious and downright greedy behavior. Corporate CEOs and their departments heads who engage in these kind of cost cutting behaviors to deprive policy holders of benefits are living on borrowed time.
What is even more disgusting is AARP is in cohoots ( I learned from an investigative reporter) to the tune of $1 Bil to push it on their members. I am so happy I never joun d AARP, something about it never felt right.
is this the company that the CEO was murdered? if so in court do they weigh in with how many people he has murdered by reckless endangerment? which is often a manslaughter charge?
Oh I know a serial legitimate killer, vrs someone who obviouslyhas some issues but then on the other hand how long would this continue if it weren't broughtto light I hope he gets off with some psych help.
I’d say this is just another profitable day in the life of your typical American insurance corporation: they are the scum of humanity!!
Luigi Mangioni was defending not just himself but all of us!
I had United Healthcare through my employer when I shattered my Tibial Plateau at 50. I had surgery. When it came time for rehab. They refused to send me to a real rehab center. I was sent to a nursing home that didn't really do rehab. Then, they refused to pay the hospital bill. I hope they tank.
About 4 years ago I hurt my ankle and couldn’t walk on it. I went to the ER for an xray, nothing else. I had UHC too and “my portion” was $1200. Presently I have no insurance because I’m working very part time and can’t afford $500/month for barebones coverage.
Aetna had me pay a co-pay on imaging at the hospital owned orthopedic office and it was $570 more than if I had gone to the imaging center down the street and paid for it myself.
It’s a money maker and they’re robbing us blind. Now you can’t even afford to get care even with insurance. And why should a CEO of a health insurance be making 1.5 million with these benefits?
I had a patient tell me about his experience getting an outpatient chest X-ray without insurance. He was initially charged $1200. After going back and forth with the company he ended up paying $250 out of pocket. Insurance is a scam cause they’re trying to pay shareholders and CEOs 🙄😒
Most residents have nowhere else to go. We're going to see lots of elders on the street alone, hungry, disoriented, and literally passing away. This is autogenocide.
After what we've seen over the last nine years, I would not be surprised. However, euthanasia is expensive. The regime will primarily rely upon autogenocide.
This is why they portray themselves as incompetent.
I witnessed this at height of C19. NHs didn't test symptomatic residents; then called for ambulance transfer to ER when their pulse/O2 lowered; or they fell; or were sufficiently dehydrated to be incoherent.
BOTH the NH & Insurance companies are BIG donors to governors. I won't mention names here.
It's happening in PA.Nursing home level alternative provider Senior Life refuses to admit seriously ill seniors to hospitals for anything, including bone fractures, infected decubiti, heart failure, because it would kick them out of the profit driven home services

I'm 77 all alone and even though I have this which costs fully 1/4 of my social security check every month, I still don't feel safe
I was fortunate and felt very financially secure until recently. Things are going up at alarming rates. My car insurance, no accidents or claims, went up 300% in 3 years, my HO insurance double in two years. My electric and gas are over $250/mo and I rarely use heat or a/c.
Keep digging.
There is a goldmine of injustice and DDD with all healthcare insurers.
Heartless! Shame is rampant within their business models to deny us healthcare.

It's turning out for-profit insurance and medicine, and the Republican party are America's death panels.
Sure explains a lot, doesn’t it.

Healthcare is a racket in the U.S.
NOT using my insurance cost less than going through insurance at CVS. All co-pays were around $20 for cheaper drugs that cost under $5. What a scam.
Just imagine if those CEOs and shareholders were eliminated, and that money went back into improving healthcare and coverage?!
