useful fact: JIS screwdrivers work in Philips screws just fine. Philips screwdrivers will destroy a JIS screw in short order. this leads to lots of stripped screws on old ham radios

If youβre working on Japanese things, (cameras and stuff) they often use JIS screws, not Philips. ππΌ

Highly value my set of Vessel Megadora JIS screwdrivers
One of my many short jobs was assembling motorcycles
It was a nice job :)
Now Torx? That's true S-tier.
Is there *any* reason to have Phillips screwdrivers, or would Pozidriv and JIS cover every common +-shaped screw?
Nah. They are just a lot more efficient and assume everyone takes the time to learn skills.
But in Japan they will assume that the person assembling knows exactly what they are doing.
