Apparently they do this on tv because showing actual books somehow requires clearing the rights to the titles, at least according to an HGTV designer I saw talk about it.

Yes, I know, but that isn’t a funny post. :)

I work in TV so I know how stupid it all is but when they do it as a style piece unnecessarily, I start to get offended.

All of my books except cookbooks are still in boxes til I figure out where they can live. It’s bumming me out. Books make a home!

What about installing rustic shelves like mine but shorter, in your kitchen? I got the brackets on Etsy and stained wood myself.
