Indicative of the real welfare queens and terrorists you need to worry about, not someone from another country, they're right in your backyard, running multi-billion dollar corporations, and holding office.

The U.S. Forest Service manages about half of California's forested land, or 48%. The federal government owns 57% of California's forestland, while the state owns 3%. The remaining 40% is privately owned
I should also say that I live in a class 10 fire area and have a real interest in all this as I AM surrounded by fed land. Our water district is great, our electrical service so-so. We had a horrible fire here in 2020, almost lost my home and have friends who did. I'm not defending Newsome
At least your feelings about him are based on facts, not fear mongering and conspiracy theories. That’s how democracy is supposed to work. I wish more people understood this.
well, thank you for that. I think it’s often true that we have mixed feelings about the politicians we vote for. I’ve been all in for a few, and 1 foot in for many but I’ve never been able to rationalize the GOP nor have I ever voted that way. I just despise dishonesty and disinformation.
let me get some facts straight here. First of all the LA fires were urban not forest. Newsome has zero control over urban fire departments or urban development, infrastructure, including hydrants. Reservoirs are red herring in this fire.
Be that as it may, *Republicans* are saying it's a forest management issue - probably because they can't admit global warming is a fact - so it's fine to call them out on it.
The LA Times has an excellent article out. You may want to read entitled “Inconvenient truths about the fires burning in Los Angeles from two fire experts”. I think this will be helpful for people to nail down a good idea of what the problem actually is. No paywall.

So while these Republicans may have voted against funds for forest management that would not have affected this fire one way or the other.
