it's happened repeatedly that i've had to simply delete half my resume because ATS systems decide that the random freelance work i note at the very bottom is in fact my only employment history 🤪

linkedin i've gathered is basically useless except as a way to receive approximately 400 automated messages a day soliciting you for low paying gig-work training AI lol

There isn't, but I'm a recruiter of 5y or so. ATS generally are just like....an internal profile for a candidate. The ATS I used didn't auto-approve/deny candidates outside of the candidate self-selecting out for roles (Like saying they needed pt when it's a fte role, or needed a visa)

we had to manually look at resumes, looked for the specific things the hiring manager wanted for the role and if we didn't see it (or close to it), we wouldn't refer to the HM for possible interview. Hard to say since there's 1000 ways to do my job, but that's my take.
