Related to today's Extratime news: I can't say I fully perceive what the league's content plan is outside of games. There seems to be a lack of cohesion and/or understanding what fans of all stripes want. Which is not super reassuring. It doesn't have to be that way. - ThreadSky

Every team should be represented in some way, whether that's a FT person covering them or a network of informed writers/podcasters helping to shape coverage. Yes, it costs money. But you're buying narrative control and coherent, up to date information. Those are all worth paying for.

If you must half measure, just about every team has someone working their tail off on the content end (hey @garrettmelcer.bsky.social). Run their content on the main site and use them. The teams that don't have them? Subsidize the ability to get them. There's a market for this stuff period.

I just can't agree with the idea that fans, be it casual or hardcore, want less content. Especially as the league hopes to grow over the next 24 months with the 26 World Cup. Now is the time to put your best foot forward.

So true Sam! Every other sport is try to figure out more ways to create content… then there is MLS
