My local theater is no joke, too, they ban you outright if you're an asshole. The manager there banned these kids for being so disruptive once and the kids and their parents keep emailing her to unban them and she's like, lmao, no. I love my local theater.

I think part of it is just this movie really hit. The timing was right b/c kids still love Minecraft and teens who played it as kids are the right age to want to see it. It also helps that it's a decent kid's adventure in the mold of old 80s movies. If I saw this as a kid I would've been obsessed.
