If Beltrán missed by 69 votes last year and this year is +18 through roughly 1/3rd of the vote, I can see him missing election by anywhere between 10-15 votes (70-72.5%)—unless a lot of the private ballots flip his way

Walker had 12% after 5 yes, so there is some hope for Buehrle. He will need a massive change of POV though, Walker had a lot more competition in 1st 5 yrs for votes so that's a massive qualifier on this comparison (based on HOF voting, aside from stats/career).
Andy feels just as unlikely.

Weird how the anti-PED group keeps making exceptions. Pettitte admitted to using (but just to rehab...like that is better than any other reason) yet seems to get off lightly vs others like Clemens (far superior pitcher, never admitted to it, but Pettitte and his trainer both claimed thus no HOF).

Not particularly surprised. I think some voters who would otherwise support them see them as lost causes (because Bonds and Clemens never got particularly close and A-Rod and Manny's candidacies have been stagnant) and are using those spots for other candidates.
