I am not in NY nor have lived there, but if I were Hochul, I would at least wait until this hearing period is completed. With the election so close, that is an interesting variable. I can't imagine he would be re-elected, but then...Trump. His guilt is open but not legally adjudicated.

Adam's, like trump cares more about staying out of prison than staying in power. Trump is his get out of jail free. He will ask Hochul to not press NYS charges if he resigns. Otherwise, she'd have to fire him and make things messy or let him ride it out, which is the worst possible outcome.
