tannerdino has been drilling ash for super minute details about the code for months about it as well--they are absolutely aware, and have been aware it's been coming for some time id reckon
Genuinely not a roast or anything, question -- what is there to do in 2004scape? Many enjoyable activities that come to my mind with RS/OSRS wouldn't exist yet. Is it largely a nostalgia visit?
I can only speak for myself but I enjoy playing 2004lostcity a lot since I enjoy profitable runecrafting. Players like me who enjoy certain parts of the game to such high extend that they don't mind that it is a worse game overall will of course be a very small minority. 🙂
It is a shame that skilling isn't really profitable in OSRS nowadays, but it's equally a shame, imo, that skilling is nowhere near as fun as PvM can be.
There's no rule that we can't have a [insert any skill here] boss that is just as fun as [insert boss of your choice here].
I think of it like museum (so yeah, nostalgia). It's cool to experience Runescape like it was in a form that hasn't be available since 2004, with progressive updates.
It is *objectively* a worse game than OSRS in my opinion, but serves a different purpose.
For anyone else "objectively in my opinion" would be an oxymoron, but then I remembered you are in fact President of MMOs and being president means you are infallible and your opinions are fact.
It might be inevitably shut down, but if Project Zanaris could allow you to choose any version of RS/OSRS you want, then at least that could be something?

gotta take advantage of those players looking for a new home
