My father earned every award he won, from Canadian Screen awards to an Emmy.
Both my mom and dad absolutely approved of when I wanted to switch to creative work, throughout my spec honours degree on lit with a focus in genre studies, horror, scifi and satire.
When I said I wanted to switch out of biochem/genetics they said "about time you admitted it." and helped me switch.
No scorn over wanting a job in a creative field.
