I always get the (maybe reactionary) impression that many journalists believe they’re doing an acceptable job merely by the fact that they’re journalists

right wing legitimately is incapable of understanding journalism. it is either in line with their fascist hierarchical dream logic and they just call that propaganda "journalism" or it's an "unethical opinion piece".
i mean authoritarians in general do this, but mostly right wing ones.
