Hi, just a reminder that Gen Z and Millennials use public libraries at higher levels the older generations! This isn’t just an attack on our information infrastructure, it’s an attack on one of the left’s core voter demog groups.

I didn’t know this stat but I love it. My dad (passed last year at 82) was an avid library user, he took advantage of all the services he could, and there are so many more than people realize!
Speaking as a Gen Xer, I use my local libraries (and their online services) constantly. They are an invaluable resource and part of the glue that holds a community together.
Years ago, Amazon offered my kid's grade a test. If they passed, they went to academic boot camp and then on to fully funded private education thru college anywhere. Two kids passed. Close friends. But only one got to. The other was white.
I get it, sure. The kid didn't. He voted this year.
All the kids I used to teach in a SpEd class had MAGA parents. What those parents are gaining is the opportunity to figure out how to teach their own kids in their own houses. No school will be able to put up with some of the violent or disrupted behaviors of some without the help the funds provide.

Community dialogue is the only weapon against mass misinformation.
do we have any solid ideas as to what factors are related to this trend? i'm curious to know why, if possible.
I will have to find this survey. I am very curious.
Reading now.
Great reading, friends.
I am proud of how public libraries have worked to create community space & collections outside the traditional.
Libraries & freedom to information are a basic need & a democratic right.
Refusing access to information is tactic 1 from fascist playbook. Esp when we know that low-info voters break hard That Asshole.
