Well they have hobgoblins and Ogre working down there too so I am sure they needed to make it suitable for them too. Someone has to do the heavy lifting.

yes!! exactly LOL i think the zone is surprisingly friendly to bigger races but the biggest guys do start stretching that limit 😅 luckily i've been able to run around in cat form instead

There is quite a lot of them more than I thought there would be in the Undermine. And they are kinda their muscles for the entire place too.

Probably more convenient for the goblins to make it convenient for the Hobs than for themselves.

Oooh good, good, though yeah it's always better to size architecture for taller people than for shorter, which is why it's made for an 6ft person on average. However when you are 5'1, you have about 40% less usable shelves in the house. Or you need this

Also you could see it as an ego thing - think about the line when you mook those guards with the noggenfogger elixirs and the shrunk ones remark "this is what gnomes see" or something to that effect
