If she's posting, she's at least alive in the colloquial sense! (& if she were a lich or vampire, I bet she'd either be complaining it didn't fix the collagen problem or rejoicing if it had.)
•blink• Why are the potatoes on the washing machine? (If there is a reason that addresses a need I have regarding my potatoes, I would like to know so I can try to replicate it with my potatoes. If "just there," then… Awww! Kitty pillow! 😻)
Ah, well! (If anyone knows how to keep little thin-skinned gold potatoes from going green from light exposure, growing eyes because in the dark, getting weird something or other from being in the fridge because too cold (that one is my spouse's comment, or I'd stick them in the fridge)... Help?)
It may sound silly, but burying them in a pile of potting compost works for our potatoes. Best in a basket to keep it together as you don't want them enclosed and sweaty.
We may have different varieties in the UK though.
I am also interested in the answer to the "potatoes in the fridge" issue (though I just have russet ones) because that would *seem* like an ideal place to keep them 8-)
You really don't want to eat potatoes that don't do that. You *can* refrigerate them. Just get them out a few hours early on the day you cook them. What I do is cook them when they start showing green or sprouting. Cooked keeps weeks in the fridge. & use them in recipes that start w/ cooked taters.
