Please please please please please do not feed your pets raw food right now, period. There is no way for it to be safe at the current moment and it is unlikely to get better in the forseeable future.

I posted yesterday about a family that’s dealing with a catastrophic bird flu infection in their cats. They’re dealing with enough right now, and don’t need unkind comments. But it does seem that the contaminant was a commercially prepared, batch tested raw food. *Please stop feeding raw right now.*

I have some salmon freeze dried treats that one of my lot LOVES. I'm hoping *fish* will be okay, but they also process chicken ones so... I should probably bake some treats. Thank you.
Thanks for increasing my battery of insults by one :)
There's absolutely no chance that this is a good idea in the US in the foreseeable future.
That is a very good info thread.
Them getting stung... honestly yeah, flat-out avoid all raw anywhere at all time for now, the proverbial best of the best can't do it safely right now.
Some zoos can process meat on site (a grinder isn't expensive and there's skill cross-training/overlap, etc) or might be doing short-term ways to make it safe, etc.
Broad-brush words always have enormous gaps when you get down to the nitty-gritty! XD
Our boi has the same problem. Blue Buffalo makes a poultry-free dry that he loves!
