Was just telling a guy this. He had a bad experience where he went to a BDSM party and got forced to do things he hasn't consented to. I told him that's not BDSM, that's assault.

Too bad the community as a whole doesn’t abide by most or any of that and most men think and/or act with the wrong (little) head. And when consent is rescinded or never given to begin with, NO means NO. It doesn’t mean keep going because YOU want it & break the other person forever. 🙏🏾💯

Informed: they have to one what they’re agreeing to, and you need to obtain separate consent for anything outside the original discussion if it comes up during the scene.

Enthusiastic: they gotta be into it. They need to sound like they are truly wanting to do this.

Affirmative: they gotta tell you yes or make some other indicator of positive consent. It can’t just be “not a no”.

Ongoing: you gotta check in and make sure it’s ok to keep going. And they can say no at any time. If they do, STOP. IMMEDIATELY. Switch into aftercare mode and ask how you can help. And do what they ask; don’t subsidize your judgment for theirs.
