The fact that Sega is not afraid of trying new things with him, I mean yeah there's been flops but there has always been something good about a majority of the games in one way or another.
I really want to play Frontiers because it looks like a great way to implement 3D Sonic. : )
And with Forces although it's not my cup of tea, there is the character creator, so any character that was in Sonic that Sega do not have rights to can be playable.
And Sonic 06 being an infamous example, although very clumsy in design, introduced Silver. (And also has some of my favorite music.)
Oh well I'm two day late, but my favorite thing about the franchise is it's extended lore and how it's not really restrained to anything really, one day Sonic is fighting Gods then another one he's fighting Eggman his evil schemes, the diversity is Crazy and I think it should be celebrated really.
I feel really endearing how SatAM is different from the Games which is different from Boom series and it keeps going! There's serious, funny, edgy and whatsoever stories for everyone to enjoy! If you don't vibe with one, there's always something else! Like I said the diversity is crazy!
He made me who I am, got me into video games as a whole, and got me through some of the hardest times of my life, when I felt I had nothing to turn to.
How Sonic 2 never gets old. Seriously, that game is my comfort blanket. It has an incredibly calming, grounding, and reassuring effect on me. It's my happy place.
Sonic himself?
He represents freedom, balancing a care free attitude with the responsibility of protecting his world and friends not only because he has the power to do so, but because he chooses too.
Also there's always at least something to enjoy from each game no matter the overall quality.
His coolness and the fact that he always smirks when he faces a new challenge. He doesn’t care what others think about him, he does what he thinks is right depending on the situation. I find these attributes highly appealing.
Now, if we're talking about the franchise in general, the speed, the world, the music, and the characters. The Sonic fan base, in my opinion, is the best community out there. So many talented and passionate people in there. I love everything about it.
For me it's the sense of adventure in the world along with how over time you see Sonic actively change the lives of others.
With Tails it is in backstory, but one by one he's helped most the extended cast grow or move forward & all of them have helped the world too. It's change as much as freedom.
where would i begin? i adore everything about this franchise, every aspect, every nook and cranny, every version. i'm a SatAM kid myself, i've seen it all
to keep it brief... that cartoon hedgehog raised me. sure, my parents did their job, but i learned how to carry myself, treat others...
...even those i don't see eye to eye with. i learned how to look adversity in the eye with a wink and a smile. i learned how to treat the world like a parkour playground and to always keep moving. sonic helped me find a confidence and a swagger in myself that i don't know i'd have found otherwise...
...but most importantly, that blue rat taught me how important it is to be there for your friends, what it means to be loyal to the end, and to always tell it like it is. to stand up for yourself and those you care for and/or look out for in general.
Sonic as a character? I love his empathy, bro wants to life everyone higher, even us fans.
Sonic as a series? Funnily enough, the characters. I've never seen a cast of characters so colourful in every walk of media they touch, and this series is at it's strongest when it uses all of them.
I love the franchise's (and sonic himself's) overwhelming confidence in the face of adversity
They will stumble but theyll get back up
And they will go back at it
I think for me it's simply his design, but not just him, the entire cast have great designs, the zones and environments too. It's just a visually pleasing franchise imo.
Sonic himself? I always loved how he was portrayed in the Adventure games with Ryan Drummond, a free spirit who's the embodiment of ideals. Always has the right words to say, and never backs down from those in need of help, with a little 90s edge/slang to go with that rebel attitude.
For me? I adore the flow of a Sonic game, that feeling you get when you glide through a level and make no mistakes. I'm yet to find a game that replicates that feeling like Sonic.
I've always loved how fun and inspiring the Sonic series is. All of the characters are so fun and I especially loved their interactions with each other. Also, the world they live in is probably the most creative world I've seen in any video game.
The characters. Each one is so unique and stand out well amongst each other. You could team up just about any character and get a new and interesting dynamic. You don't even have to be a gamer to like sonic, and I think that's why he's so successful
Sonic has been a part of my life since I was very little. I ended up grafting his personality onto me in some ways. Speed, sass, cocky, and still being a good person at the end of it all? The Hedgehog has been my hero for ages.
Sonic being a guy who knows who he is & what can he do, that lives free to enjoy existing in the moment and with a desire to treat others with the same kind of freedom he wants to have.
I like that, it inspires me a little, and i try to guide myself through live with some of those ideas in mind.
The music, without question, if I had to pick only one.
When you can make a meme like this and it leads you to two equally amazing songs, it makes my day.
Sonic himself is just really appealing. It’s cool seeing him being handled by different creative writers, studios, illustrators, etc. and seeing a different take on the lore. The character encourages creativity.
The cast. I love how everyone is cool and endearing in their own way. From someone as easy going as Sonic to an affectionate character like Amy, there's something to like about everyone, and their differences make their interactions a joy to watch.
I just love feeling like I'm controlling a shonen action hero going on a fun, grand adventure. Not just watching them or reading them, but BEING them! :)
It's so hard to pin down for me, but I LOVE the silly looking 90s American merch of him. Like the Caltoy plushies and McDonald's toys. Silly things like that.

I find him rad as fuck. Genuinely I love his design. It’s simple but it just works so well.
Shadow too.
They’re bold. Simple. Communicates so much with their shapes and colours. Recognizable silhouettes. Iconic colour combos too.

i love sonic the hedgehog and this community 💙

Oh and the action movie anime vibes.
They will stumble but theyll get back up
And they will go back at it
And the music of course
I mean, look at this guy and tell me that he isn't a goober
The characters will always matter most to me

Thats really special
Oh and also how recently in shadow generations, lost world was never acknowledged lol.
My top 4 has to be Sonic, Eggman, Tails & Metal Sonic.
But honestly, there’s so much great stuff.
