No, your eyes have not deceived you but Ryan Gravenberch needs serious competition in that position. The drop off from him to Wataru Endo, Tyler Morton or Stefan Bajcetic is too high right now.

There’s also an argument for Ryan to play next to a new DM and improving on our defence in tougher games.

The drop off from him to Macca or even Curtis isn’t as big, and I’d also point out that Wata had some magnificent cdm performances last season. I’ve been surprised that Slot hasn’t given him more opportunities tbh.

I understand your point but moving your first choice centre midfielder to DM isn’t great. Mac Allister and Jones would be good together but you would want better in the bigger games we will play.

I think Arne Slot has seen the potential of Wataru Endo as a centre back, covering for Ibrahima Konate.

No, I am suggesting you buy a first choice defensive midfielder and play him consistently. With Ryan Gravenberch playing next to them, therefore having a pretty rock solid midfield two.

Alexis Mac Allister rotates with Ryan Gravenberch as the CM, whilst Ryan Gravenberch rotates with the new DM too.
