Philosophical questions: If you’re the opposite gender of the person you were cloned from, is that trans?

Not enough information. Does the clone have the memories of the original? Are they the same age but just another gender, or significantly younger? Was the opposite gender cloning on purpose or on accident? All of these change the level of transness of the clone

My answer is unchanging. Gender and gender expression is a personal experience. A clone is a separate instance of your DNA and can have different experiences that might shape how they interact with the world and themselves.

hm I don't think so. The clone is their own entity. Their genetic make up is derived from you, but they are not you. The history of the parent should have no bearing on the clone. While the clone might've has a genetic mutation or something according to the parent, the clone simply just is.

Clarification request: are we asking if the act of a clone diverging from a gender is trans, or whether you learn that you're a different gender from your clone is a trans act?

Hmmm. In that case, I think it comes down to what the clone thinks.

Doctors/scientists be making their own determinations all the time, but ultimately, whatever gender Clone Basil goes for is Clone Basil's gender imo.
