Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord is a great game because you do a whole big medieval battles and then you slowly make a series to clicks to move the losing parties butter into your inventory. Now the butter is mine.

There’s also a screen where you can give orders and humorously you can make your character yell “everyone! Pay attention to me!” which is sort of what I do on Bluesky
I've always toyed with the idea of game where you're stuck with a generals perspective, you tell some guys go north etc but unless you have some high ground you're dependent on messengers to tell you what's happening
It’s just scooting along a world map, you can create trading caravans and armies and multiple parties, when you load into a battle you can also park yourself someplace and watch the battle unfold and issue orders so it’s kind of what you’re looking for
I love the concept and foundations of Mount and Blade, but imma be honest when my Xbox can't even handle 2,000 units in a single siege without crashing it turns me off from the game. I still have it on Steam, and it runs fine, but if I don't want to use my computer, I'm shit out of luck.
I definitely used mods to make inventory management easier then ran through a campaign where I destroyed my enemies and conquered the realm and immediately retired, leaving no successor.
You fell your enemies by the score with your lance and trusty horse, take off your helmet and say "Salt? Now I gotta slowly travel across the continent because it's selling for 280 Onira"
I have a dream about this game. I would like much bigger battles to mimic real size battles that happened in the past. Something like 5k people limit. It would be totally epic.
