Is it because of policy or because of branding? Might the actual solution to the partisan gridlock be ... a simple name change because it's 'change'!? I wouldn't put it past Americans.

Having been confronted with unrelenting evidence of who Donald Trump was through three election cycles, a constitutionally sufficient number of Americans chose a narcissistic egomaniac who has been convicted on multiple felony charges and indicted on many more.
i really wish i could say the success is due to the fact that they honor their more radical roots in the Farmer-Labor party — which did a great job of uniting both urban laborers & farmers & championing the working class — but unfortunately a lot of the left-wing of the DFL was purged long ago.
perhaps there is a legacy effect from the party’s history, but i don’t know enough about internal party politics to know for sure. it’s possible there’s a bit more of a direct tether to the working class than many state Dem parties today & that’s why it works, but that’s speculation on my part.
