one of the only things I learnt from art school was the ‘bring a sketchbook everywhere and you’ll never be bored’ mentality, and it IS a nice way to make yourself aware of all the interesting bits of your surroundings and not default reach for your phone imo

my travel sketchbooks get filled with 5 minute drawings from when I’m sat in my wheelchair waiting for my partner to get back, i love how they end up as tiny snapshots of each trip
