I was derided by one or two people for my recent suggestion (https://journals.plos.org/plosbiology/article?id=10.1371/journal.pbio.3002816) that we might need the equivalent of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission for scientific misconduct. Maybe the wording of that is a bit pompous, but I do think the principle is worth looking at. /1
