John "Dief the Chief" Diefenbaker was a the 13th prime minister of Canada, from 1957 to 1963. He obtained passage of the Canadian Bill of Rights and granted the vote to the First Nations and Inuit peoples.

Canadian History Major (UBC) and taught Pre-Con History to undergrads (beginning of time to 1867). Also a Political Geek, so I know "The Chief" well.

He could also be a bit of a jerk. He cancelled the Avro Arrow project and was very vocal opposing the new flag (our Maple Leaf).
