It's literally written in the bible. It is inherently part of Christianity, since it's those beliefs the vast majority of Christians follow worldwide.

I would say your argument is based on point 2, inerrancy, and this is not written in the Bible. But this is the belief of fundamentalists everywhere. Doesn’t mean they’re right. None of the churches I’ve attended in my 60 years preach it.

I think you're missing the point here. Throughout history, the 3 main religions are what killed the most people. Because of what was written in those books.

I am not disputing that great evil is done in the name of religion. My point is that it’s because of the character of those acting on it rather than the basis for the religion. If you’re a fan of science, I could use Darwinism to claim the weak should be left to die because that’s the natural order.
