Also, please please please talk to the offline people in your life about what's going on here. Yelling at each other on Bluesky has cathartic value, but you have to reach your friends and family who aren't tethered to social media. Have conversations. It's part of the work involved here.

I’m honestly surprised Murkowski hasn’t been more vocal yet. She has a history of winning off the Republican line and could successfully run for reelection as an independent.

Realistically, I think same-party reps are not going to come around on these issues in 2 weeks, but if Musk keeps running rampant over services their states need, we'll see a shift soon. Murkowski isn't up for reelection until 2028 unfortunately.

Framing all of this as “Musk is treating the Senate as irrelevant” seems a good way to frame in terms of getting Senators to care - calling a U.S. Senator irrelevant an attack straight at their own sense of self-importance.
