The MLA will always disappoint. This has been their mode for decades. So much performative nonsense, so little actual risk. They’re a corporation, not an advocacy group. I hate how they chew up and spit out good people who try to change the trajectory. They’ve fiddled as the humanities have burned.

I don't, as you know, think a lot of the MLA generally, but I have thought a lot of your work to move it to respond to the realities we need to contend with. Thank you for again being a model that way.
