Those were the days. Recording hundreds of MTV videos on my Betamax hi-fi ... my memory of Kylie (if correct--and it may not be), was her cover of The Locomotion.
I’ll never forget sitting at a traffic light in San Diego with my ex listen to “Come Into My World” just as five parking enforcement vehicles crossed in front of us. Kismet.
That era produced such cool videos because special effects technology had come down in price but the music industry was still spending a lot of money on promotions so we got videos like this, Frozen by Madonna and Doesn't Really Matter by Janet Jackson
It's absolutely fucking nuts how I see this post and think to myself "I can hear this image" before realising it's playing on the office radio as I do so.
One of my favorites on the Michel Gondry DVD to the point that it's the disc in my car dash player 90% of the time. When I am giving a ride to someone it will be playing and everyone is transfixed. She's not a famous figure in Japan so I'm probably their introduction to her.☺️

That video is so clever.
I’ll show myself out.
It’s a joy to see how he transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Creativity often hides in simplicity...
