Paul of Tarsus had more impact on Jesus’ legacy than all 12 of Jesus’ handpicked disciples put together
This shows how much Jesus’ picks were worth
Yet for 2,000 years people have believed Paul was part of Jesus’ plan all along
This shows how much Jesus’ brand is worth

They were lower in social class than his family & could not have written anything else either
As the son of a skilled mechanic Jesus might have learned to read
But if he ever wrote anything it wasn’t preserved
And it certainly wasn’t in Greek
Not because it was written first but because it was targeted at the original audience
Matthew was written to tailor Mark for that market after some time had passed
Scholars disagree whether Mark was first or the first was lost
None of these gospels were histories
They were sales guides
The product evolved as did the audience
And by the time John was written the product and the audience had both been completely transformed by the legacy of Paul
That’s why originally there were dozens
In Paul’s epistles he makes no reference to the gospels, only to rival apostles
And for 2,000 years every contradiction between them has either been cynically exploited or studiously ignored
