A common denial is based on the false sense that California is safe for us. I'm close to the border & carry my documents with me at all times, in case I have to run before we are declared unsafe.

Totally fair risk assessment to take. It'll be interesting to see how the appeal goes for the trans woman who was accepted as she'll use the EOs as proof that there is no safe place in the USA

Yeah, if I got sent back based on the false premise that California is safe (you can read about my assault there in the NY Times 3/04/05) I'd risk not being allowed back in. Once the 'healthy work camps' are established, I'd have no place to go. So, I am holding out for the US to be declared unsafe.

Also, if you are a trans American worried about your passport but have a valid enhanced driver's licence, you can use that to enter Canada at land port of entries
