My cousin married in Scotland. She suffered from paralysis here. She was Republican, hated "Hillary," & had no health insurance. But once in Scotland, she was seen, diagnosed, & treated for MS. I'm happy for her, but irritated that she'd used a system that here she'd decryed as evil "socialism."
Just for the record, Hillary was always against universal healthcare (“It will never, ever happen.”), had shares in private prisons and was a Walmart board member. Also, $750k speaking fees on Wall St. She is indeed hatable. She and DT both are. Two things can be true at the same time.
Why did the Clinton health care proposal fail?
The author emphasizes that the primary reason for the failure was the lack of political will to confront major players in medical care funding, especially the insurance companies and large employers.
I think she suspected it, but was unwilling to pay for insurance or out of pocket. She did however pay out of pocket for some plastic surgery prior to the move! While whining about the wait times NHI might create. Unbelievable!
We pay nothing for prescriptions here in Northern Ireland. However, the U.K. NHS has been starved of funds by the conservatives for over a decade. It would be a miracle to bring it back to what it was.
