There’s a large (too big, honestly) debate about Doechii taking to her staff on the way to the MET, and it just lets me know that most of you who aspire to work in these very industries honestly wouldn’t survive in them.

Im glad someone said it. These new kids wouldn’t last how my gen of hairstylist came up in the industry between being on show teams and being someone first assistant. Don’t have thick skin. And also read the room there hella shit going on !
Entitlement is indefensible, but I watched it & kept waiting for her so-called rudeness, which as far as I could hear never came. She was declarative & forceful in a chaotic setting. It seemed entirely appropriate. They didn’t give her any time before they started trying to put her in her “place."
I feel like an element of the backlash is bc it’s fashion it seems frivolous but the thing is if you succeed it can forever be part of your celeb brand, and if you flop it’s a lot of wasted effort. Everyone there knows the stakes of putting on a production like that
Mel Ottenberg made a tik tok about how during seasons like red carpet, MET gala, fashion week, etc —everyone’s got their own shit going on —and how people aren’t “mean” but don’t have time to sugarcoat/coddle feelings.
If you hung up on taking shit personal, this ain’t for you.
Personal feelings have no place in those moments. If you watch the video again, she’s not attacking them personally. She’s not making it personal. She’s only stating what her needs are.
And let’s be clear, they are ALL collectively there to facilitate HER needs.
