Yeah, like, as far as we know, the largest collection of both written (data tapes) and holo records exists within the Library at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. (shoutout to Jocasta Nu, for protecting their list of force-sensitive children from the imperials) The library is basically destroyed -
But also there's something to be said about the Jedi hoarding the apparent wealth of knowledge of the universe for their own order, and the library serving the Order rather than the public. (As a librarian, I'm also noticing a lack of public libraries etc in Star Wars as well.)
This dynamic of the Jedi gatekeeping their knowledge and resources and working "for the greater good" directly influences public distrust of the order and their eventual downfall, as well as is a central gray moral plot point in a lot of the shows.
