Pharma aside, one potentially invades realms that are not yet politicized, like NIH grants, and I wonder what effect that will have on the nomination process.

Hard to see any Democrats voting for him, given the vaccine views alone. Four GOP senators would need to join them.
There are some obvious candidates — ie Murkowski, Collins — and then a bunch of other folks, ie Tillis, who have pharma ties.
