Sweet Jesus - and a "Senior" columnist for the finance section?? Maybe transfer over to the cooking or gardening section cuz I don't think finance is your thing.
Biden had four years and a super majority to take bold action for working class people. They instead tried to convince people that their suffering wasn’t real because of the stock market.
Technically, but thanks to Manchin and then Sinema, drama queens both, there was no way to pass any legislation without bipartisan republican support. Neither senator would support lifting the filibuster.
I’m just amazed Biden was able to accomplish all that he did do!
The problem is the lack of will power. They could be whipped but those two give them cover to not take bold actions on policies that would piss off the consultants and corporate donors. This dynamic enabled by blue dog liberal apologists.
You’re right of course. I’m shocked at the tepid responses in the democratic senate to Trump’s appointees. Yes, they haven’t got the votes to derail it but they should have been making a lot more noise about them. The libel shield in the debate rules could have gotten a work out at the very least.
When we did this action targeting Schumer and Manchin’s dirty deal to push the mountain valley pipeline through the IRA (which is absolutely insane), they killed the deal the next day….at least for another six month when they pushed it through the fiscal responsibility act https://youtu.be/cmQIJcxRYO0?si=BvkN7oKdZDqosD5C
The democrats knew he was mentally unfit for office yet didn’t hold a primary and ignore mass resistance against support for a genocide. This is why we now have Trump let’s not try to gloss over Biden’s failed neoliberal polices
Here’s a free chapter on Why Trump Won in 2016. My book was endorsed by Noam Chomsky for reference. We have to confront these difficult truths if we hope to defeat fascism https://betherevolution.us/home/
Your perspective of “it’s Biden’s Fault” is not helpful no matter how much expertise you have. And if you think Biden was too far gone mentally I sure as
fuck hope you raised a red flag about Reagan also- no need to answer back let’s agree to disagree
no arguments about Reagan whatsoever. It would be reductive to solely blame Biden. The real problems are much more complex, ie the entire neoliberal political consultant class, etc. I hope you consider reading the 2016 post-election autopsy and feel free to respond with any specific counterpoints.
This is the first time I’ve ever been presented with my own work as a counter point which is objectively kind of awesome. Thanks for spreading the word about this. Also folks can watch Greg’s film Vigilantes Inc for free here: https://saveyourvote.org

I, and every single one of my friends, stopped spending months ago.
GDP is predicted to decline by about -1.5% by April.
Let’s drive that to -3% by July.
MAGA must suffer a prolonged period of deep pain and uncertainty.
FAFO is the mantra.
Yes inflation was high but so were corporate profit margins
When corporate margins are at record highs it means businesses were contributing to inflation to boost their profits.
