I work in retail and those survey are terrible. Only a score of 9 or 10 is seen as positive. 7 or 8 is passive. 0 to 6 is a negative score. It's all bullshit.
Also that score isn't used for rating the store... It rates the individual employee. It sucks.

I bought a car and the dealership basically told me the survey is mandatory. If I don’t do it, and my salesperson doesn’t get solid 10’s across the board, he doesn’t get commission.

I'm lucky that my employer isn't that bad. The score is still used to judge my performance as an employee though.
