This is probably a very out-of-touch old guy question, but what does it mean to be an "OC artist"? Are these character designs for a story, a game or role-playing? Or is it only about making characters?
I love character design, but I often have to find some excuse why I "need" to make them.
It just means that characters are the main focus of their art. An oc artist draws their oc, and anything else they draw is usually in relation to their oc. Oftentimes, the character design is meant for nothing else than to be the focus of their art.
i feel like a proud mom every time any of my OCs get complimented. if an artist tells me “i loved drawing your character” it gives me enough joy to last the entire WEEK
This. Though I recently submitted a couple of mine to some polls in a couple patreons i'm in and they came in dead last both times... was not a fun week...
The highest part of the Pyramid should be "People hating your OCs", because they're just that bad(in a good way).
