This is first time I have seen this,the Corridor makes so much sense, it runs along the Pennines instead of trying to cross it.

Then linking Liverpool to Hull with all the major towns in between and toTeeside (NE), dropping down to Birmingham (Midlands) Avoiding the Peak District.
